The Beginning
Hosper Switches, backed by Bharat Electrical Industries, entered the market with high-volume manufacturing capacity and highly durable electrical switches and components. In B2B electrical distribution, they had established stable channels but were constrained by low margins and intense price-sensitivity.
The Challenge
Despite their manufacturing excellence, Hosper was perceived as a commodity brand—a low-cost alternative rather than a premium design choice. Distributors and dealers routinely squeezed their margins, and consumers rarely requested Hosper by name. To build long-term value and command premium pricing, Hosper needed to transform its visual perception. They needed to make switches look like premium interior design choices rather than simple plastic hardware.
"Good design attracts attention. Great branding earns trust. If your packaging feels cheap, the buyer assumes the engineering inside is cheap too."
Our Role & Strategy
Brandian Tree stepped in as official growth and branding partners in 2022 to guide Hosper's total visual transformation:
- Premium Packaging: Designed a unified, luxury-tier packaging system utilizing bold colors, rich typography, and minimal geometries, immediately indicating premium product standards on dealer shelves.
- Visual Identity Overhaul: Refined the Hosper logo mark and guidelines, establishing clean geometric assets that symbolize stability and modern home design.
- Dealer Catalogues: Transformed dry product catalogs into aesthetic design lookbooks that interior designers and architects would confidently use with clients.
- Retail Branding: Standardized in-shop display stands, retail boxes, and signs to ensure high-impact visual presence in high-traffic electrical markets.
The Business Outcome
The brand transformation completely repositioned Hosper. By shifting their visual language, they successfully unlocked premium product segments, enabling their dealers to command higher margins. Today, Hosper is recognized as a category benchmark in India's electrical retail market. Their brand perception has become so premium and influential that competitors have begun imitating their visual layouts and packaging boxes, validating our positioning strategy.
